My experience in a country where the standard was vegan, and after being introduced to American/European culture influenced meat-eating become popular and somehow proof of wealth. Yes, it is still difficult to know which foods are completely vegan in a place where only a few are conscious about how food is made and what goes into making the food on our plates. Now, living in modern-day South Korea where every food product predominantly contains animal products, it is difficult to just go out to any restaurant and expect the food or people to be welcoming to a vegan diet. Although most people don’t understand the concept of what begin a vegan is full, they are willing to know and keep an open mind. Now there are a lot more vegan restaurants and products popping up here and there compared to only 2 years ago! In only 2 years I’ve seen more people at vegan places and using vegan products, whether or not it is a conscious decision is a question, but it is exciting to see how it is being more widely known. It may be in fashion to create vegan products, to make a brand seem more sustainable for consumers who are environmentally conscious, and of course for publicity. But simply putting veganism out there and marketing it is enough to fuel the vegan community. ( Korean vegan cosmetics, melixir. ) Nowadays, since sustainability is a popular marketing tactic, naturally the spotlight also shines on the vegan community. It would really make life worth living all the more when we all come together to heal the world we have for so long exploited. To heal our surroundings and in turn healing ourselves and just be at peace. Yes, change is difficult, uncomfortable, and even sometimes excruciatingly painful. But wouldn’t it be worth it when there is a guarantee that it will all be for the better? With the stride the vegan community has made, a better future seems to be much closer than we can imagine! 2021/06/10 _이미지 출처 https://rjkoehler.tumblr.com/post/173676896713/jongno-at-nighthttps://www.eatingveganwithme.com/vegan-recipes/vegan-korean-bibimbap/https://www.pablooh.com/melixir
